On-Going And Capital Projects To Do In 2001-2002
City Well # 10:
Well # 10 is being constructed on the southwest corner of LeMars on Industrial Road. Drilled into the Dakota Aquifer at a depth of 360í deep, this well will produce raw water at a rate of 1000 gpm. Supplying the water department with an additional 1.4 million gallons of water a day. Construction by Layne Western Company should be completed by Jan 1st, 2002, at a cost of $235,000.

Demolition of the Old Water Tower:
Scheduled in the spring of 2002, this structure in now considered obsolete due to the increased elevation of the new elevated tank. At a cost of $24,600, Pittsburgh Tank and Tower company from Henderson, KY. will do the work.
